Good questions.
Straight answers.

How do I record and save my screen?

Select Start recording, then choose a screen, window or tab in the browser prompt. Pause and resume if needed, then Stop recording. Preview the video and select Download video to save a local file.

Where is my video stored, and what permissions are needed?

Video stays in this tab’s memory until you discard it or leave. Nothing is uploaded; there are no accounts, analytics or saved history. Your browser asks permission to share a screen for each recording. The optional shared-audio request does not request your microphone.

What are the limits and supported formats?

Use a desktop browser with screen capture and MediaRecorder on HTTPS or localhost. Recording stops at five active minutes or 100 MiB of encoded data; memory use can be higher. Export uses a supported native WebM or MP4 format, without conversion. Shared audio and protected-content capture depend on your browser, source and OS. Mobile capture may be unavailable.

What if permission is denied or I close the tab?

If sharing is cancelled or denied, select Start recording to try again and check browser or OS permissions. If sharing ends from the browser, the video is finalized for download. Closing or reloading loses unsaved footage. Download before leaving; there is no recovery history.
