Also supports numbered lists, blockquotes (>), inline code and horizontal rules. This is a simple subset, not a full CommonMark or GitHub Markdown renderer. Tables, task lists and nested lists are not supported.

A PRIVATE WORKING COPY

Your writing stays in tab memory. No uploads, analytics, accounts or saved history. Refreshing or closing this page loses the draft. Download it before you leave.

MARGIN NOTES

Before the next draft.

How do I preview and save Markdown?

Type or paste into the manuscript, load the sample, or open a UTF-8 .md or .txt file. The proof updates as you write. Download .md saves the accepted source as a Markdown file; your browser controls the save prompt. You can also select and copy the source text manually.

Does my writing leave this browser?

No. Drafts stay in tab memory with no uploads, analytics, accounts or persistent browser storage. File selection and download happen only when you choose them. Raw HTML is displayed as text; preview links are inert and image syntax becomes a text placeholder, so content cannot fetch remote resources.

What are the limits, and can I recover a draft?

The limit is 200 KiB of UTF-8 text. An oversized edit or file is rejected while the previous accepted draft stays intact. Clear and Load sample can be reversed with Undo replace. Refreshing or closing the tab loses all drafts: there is no autosave or recovery after closing. Download before leaving. This simple Markdown subset omits tables, nested lists, embedded HTML and fetched images.
