THE DETAILS

Frequently asked
questions.

How do I make and save a QR code?

Enter text or a full URL, choose a PNG resolution, then select Generate QR code. Select Download PNG to save the result. Spaces and line breaks are preserved. Editing the input removes the previous download until you generate again.

Is my text uploaded, and do I need permissions?

No. Encoding and PNG creation run locally in this tab. There are no uploads, analytics, accounts or saved history. URLs are encoded as text and are never fetched. No camera or clipboard permission is needed. Downloads follow your browser’s save settings.

What are the limits, and what if scanning fails?

Input is limited to 1,000 UTF-8 bytes, not 1,000 characters. Output is a static black-and-white PNG with medium error correction and a four-module white border. There are no logos, editable destinations or scan tracking. Keep the border intact, try a shorter message or the Large resolution, and test at the intended print size. Scanner handling of international text can vary.

How do I recover from an error or save on mobile?

For an empty or oversized message, edit the text and generate again. Clear resets the input and output. If saving opens an image instead, open the PNG preview and use Save Image in your browser. Refreshing clears your work; there is no recovery history. A downloaded QR code can be read by anyone who has it.
