Privacy policy

ForgeHub apps run entirely in your browser. What you type, paste or compare stays on your device: it is not uploaded to us, and we have no account system, analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. This policy explains the small amount of technical data that is still involved in delivering a website, and who handles it.

Summary

• Your content stays in your browser. Data you enter into a ForgeHub app, such as JSON in JSON Mirror, is processed in the open browser tab and is never sent to ForgeHub or anyone else.
• No accounts, analytics or ads. We do not ask for your name or email, run analytics or advertising scripts, or build profiles of visitors.
• No cookies or browser storage from us. ForgeHub does not set cookies or use local storage, session storage or IndexedDB.
• No third-party assets. Pages load their scripts, styles, fonts and images from ForgeHub itself, not from external services.
• Hosting involves standard request data. Like every website, our hosting provider receives technical information such as your IP address when your browser requests a page.

Data you enter into apps

ForgeHub apps are designed to work locally. When you use JSON Mirror, the documents you paste are parsed and compared by JavaScript running in your browser tab. They are not transmitted over the network, not saved to browser storage, and not visible to us. App pages are served with a Content Security Policy that blocks them from making network connections, which enforces this in the browser.

The data exists only in the memory of that tab. Closing or reloading the tab discards it. Browser features outside our control, such as session restore, extensions or operating-system backups, may behave differently; check their settings if this matters to you.

If you choose Export report or a similar download option, the file is created in your browser and saved to your device. We do not receive a copy. Once downloaded, it is yours to store and share responsibly.

Technical data when you visit

To deliver a page, your browser sends a request that includes standard information: your IP address, the address of the page, the time, and headers such as your browser type and preferred language. This happens on every website and is needed to send the page back to you.

ForgeHub is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes this request data to deliver the site, protect it against abuse and attacks, and provide aggregate traffic statistics. Cloudflare handles this data under its own privacy policy. We have not enabled request logging that records visitors' IP addresses, and we do not use the aggregate statistics our host provides (for example, total requests) to identify anyone.

The ForgeHub home page periodically requests the public list of available apps from the same site so that new apps appear automatically. These requests contain no personal content.

Cookies and similar technologies

ForgeHub itself does not set cookies and does not use local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, fingerprinting or similar tracking technologies. Our hosting provider may set a strictly necessary security cookie in limited cases, for example when it asks your browser to complete a bot or security check. Such cookies are used for security only, not for advertising or analytics.

Third parties and external links

We do not sell, rent or share personal data, and we do not embed third-party trackers, social widgets, advertising or externally hosted fonts. Articles may link to external websites, such as published specifications. When you follow those links, the other site's privacy policy applies.

ForgeHub is public and may be indexed by search engines and AI assistants. Crawlers can read our published pages, but they never have access to the data you enter into an app, because that data never leaves your browser.

Your rights and choices

Because we do not collect or store content or personal profiles, there is usually nothing about you for us to access, correct or delete. Depending on where you live, you may still have rights over personal data, such as the right to access, correct, delete or object to its processing. Requests about request data handled by our hosting provider can also be made to Cloudflare directly.

You can use ForgeHub without enabling anything beyond JavaScript. If you prefer, you can disconnect from the network after a page loads; apps such as JSON Mirror keep working in the open tab.

Children

ForgeHub is a general-purpose set of tools and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how ForgeHub handles data, for example by adding a feature that sends information to a server, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect. Significant changes will also be described in the relevant app.
